Why would it not be safe to extract with solution? When you extract you are already using clean, hot water. Adding a solution to that can save time and effort!!

heat is not always the best thing...when it comes to rinsing certain types of carpet...sometimes cold works better |

prespraying with a hydo-force is a must in my opinion and if the carpet is heavily soiled I will rake the traffic areas in and extraction with a detergent. I am currently using Bridgepoints Point blue But sinse I have got my new Peak because the heat if much higher than the cleanco was I am thinking of giving Prochems Heat wave a try. If the carpet is grossly dirty then I pull out My RX-20. Once I am done if I am concerned about soap residue I will mist a rinse on all the cleaned carpet.
Just the way we do it :)

Generally the 2-step cleaning processd is first scrubbing with a rotary machine using a higher type foam product then hot water extracting with either no detergent or with detergent or a mild acid rinse. Better known as Textile Rinse.

I prespray & then rise with how water only. I think that it is safer to rinse with clean hot water than to leave a solution in the carpet.
