1. When applying an anti-chlor to a bleach discoloration, how long does it take for the chemical to neutralize the bleach?
2. Why, specifically, is cotton more absorbent than wool as a natural fiber? 3. What is the carrier of silicone based protectors? 4. What is the purpose of “tanning” leather that is destined for upholstery? 5. Name at least six protein fibers and their source. 6. Why is it illegal to cultivate hemp in the United States? 7. What is “pulled wool”? 8. What fiber was used for inexpensive clothing before the introduction of cotton in Europe? 9. How does U.S. carpet production compare if you analyzed production in 2005 vs. 1950? 10. If silk is the strongest natural fiber known to man, why are we told to be gentle when cleaning it? |

What a task:
1)Who cares how many seconds etc it takes. Most neutralizers are reducing agents, I guess it depends on the penetration of the anti-chlor into whatever surface it is.So what surface is it and how much bleach was spilled. 2)Wool is more absorbent than cotton as far as I know. 3)Silicone protector can have either as a carrier. Have seen both over the last 30 years.Well according to the people I bought it from anyways. 4)Tanning we'll leave for Tony. 5)Protein based fibers? Proper names? Forget it, but try horse hair, sheep wool, goat hair, silk caterpillars, camel hair and ostrich? 6) Isn't hemp a male pot plant? 7) Have to look it up 8)a guess-linen? 9)Carpet as in tufted carpet?, were they tufting carpet in 1950? Not to any great extent anyways. Most carpet now is tufted, back when it was woven. 10)Silk loves to brown out from alkalinity, rings out, colours bleed and often crock, rugs will buckle along the warp and never settle back, damaged by perspiration, and with rugs their texture is easily screwed up. |
