The city I live in has a dumping station its worth the money to get rid of it safely then to illegally dump and get a nice fine! Not to mention I live near cranberry bogs I dont think Ocean Spray would like the extra ingredients in their product lol!

All I know at least in California its gets hot. Nothing worse than getting in your vehicle with that toxic fume giving you a headache (rush) fricking overwelmng. Thats when the problem starts I was not able to dump at the last few calls. And a day or two has gone by. All I know is that smell is makes as though a chemical imbalance especially on a long drive to the custy. I know you have all been through it. Sometimes i am on the prowl to find a spot so i can think again. That smell makes me very angry. . ESpecially when you cleaned up a custy that had dogs and they looked like they running things at the house. Dammit I gotto drain right now neighbors are sleeping.

Almost all of the chemicals I use are actually Eco friendly I used to pay to dispose of it in my town but now I just pump it on my lawn. I should just start watering my grass with it as the area where I pump the water seems to make the grass nice and green.

Waste Tank Discharge from Carpet Cleaning Equipment
Under the Clean Water Act, you cannot dump your waste-water directly into surface water - such as retention ponds, lakes, rivers, ponds etc. It is illegal to dump your clean or dirty solution down a storm sewer, into a stream or onto a street, or driveway. Even if your customer permits you to dump on his/her yard it's unwise. If the groundwater runs off to wetlands or streams of if the property is as close as 75 feet to a well, storm sewer, dam or any other source that leads to a stream, Additionally, if the soil is waterlogged, rocky or often flooded, it is usually not legal. In many areas, you cannot dump into a septic tank system unless it is large enough to handle the load. Moreover, special permission, license and even fees are required in some communities. In a few communities, you may dump ONLY in a designated hazardous waste disposal plant. Recovered waste-water may only be dumped into a sanitary sewer line which discharges into a publicly owned waste-water treatment plant. Bear in mind that usually this water is no more harmful than the dirty water coming from a consumers dishwasher or laundry machine, which also cannot, obviously, be dumped into a storm sewer or into the street! If you do not have a sanitary sewer where you can dump at home or at your place of business, we suggest you make arrangements with a car wash or an RV dumpsite. Just be certain to get WRITTEN permission and always strain out solid matter using a wire mesh when dumping. Keep this written permission in your truck in case someone, such as the police, question whether you have permission. If you don't have the written permission with you, you might get arrested! Many cleaners get in trouble with the law every year. They are fined severely and sometimes even jailed for dumping waste-water into streams, ponds, or into the street. Not only can the company be fined, but the individual technician doing the illegal dumping can also be fined! Waste-water cannot be emptied into storm drains because most drains empty into surface waters. This is true not just for professional carpet cleaners but is also true of professionals doing such things as pressure washing vehicles and buildings! |

Businessmen who don't understand a business is expected to possess a sharp sense of social responsibility will always see profit as the only thing an operation is expected to provide. The business models that can't see the big picture are a subject of concern in today's Business 101 college classes. In other words, these businesses are old school, not suitable in today's society. While I am sure this comment will get the dander up of a few businesses not willing to evolve, I really don't care.

All to do about dumping...
Why not do the right thing and purchase a proper sump pump and pump it where it is legal. I guess I already know the answer. $$$$$ Everyone will do it illegally until a gun is pointed at your head. Here is an idea... be the first to own one in your area and market it as such and watch your volume climb. Plus, you sleep nights knowing you are doing the proper thing and play it up. |

Lets do some flood extraction with your maggot5 @ 200ft with your unit at the top
of the stairs and the hoses going down the stairs and back up to another room. You don't have a chance against a TM. That's where BIG lift comes in. The water goes down the stairs now has to come up the stairs into your wastetank. Goodluck.
Try it. I have.
Another thing you can try is run 200ft with wand and drop a dime, penny, nickel and quarter on the carpet, now see which one you can suck up with the wand and recover to your wastetank. NONE will probably be the answer.

The only ones I ran into with a problem of dumping porty water in their toilets were the ones with septic tanks that were already at a max level.

Supernatural, nobody can pull that truckmount card on me because I have a ProChem Everest 650hp. We only had one customer mention the use of a portable since we began using them about 5 or 6 months ago and he shut up in a hurry once he saw how clean the carpets were coming. Not many customers know the difference between a tm and portable but they can tell an excellent carpet cleaning from a mediocre one. Our booster M5 with RV360i does an excellent job.
I've said it before and will say it again; I would put a boosted M5 or equally powered portable/RV360i up against ANY truckmount/ wand combination and blow its doors off.
