College was good for one thing when I was 18.

You avoided the draft without having to move to Canada.

By the time I was 15 days from being 20, the lottery system came along, I was number 325 and since they had 15 days to get thru the guys born the other 324 days, I was instantly disqualified from going into the service and get my ass shot off in a war I personally could find no grounds for agreement on its necessity.

I am truly old school.  Not as old as my fathers.  He was Valedictorian of his graduating class in a one room school.  He may have been a math genius but the family needed him to work, they called it the Great Depression.

I personally place no value on a college education and it may seem harsh but I make it a rule to not hire anyone attending or who graduated from college unless the graduate is over the age of 50.  This is because of the companies that will only hire those who are under 50 and are either attending or have some degree that has no applicable relevance to the job at hand.

The group I look at are happy to have a job, not thinking they are above it and only taking this one until something better comes along.

No offense meant.
