Done the portable and the truckkmount thing in the past, learned how to get better results with OP. Mastering one, got rid of the need for BOTH.

It is almost impossible to master TWO methods, mainly because you will let your bias decide how to clean a carpet instead of learning by sticking to one or the other in all situations.

I still stand by what I said Soil Lint, but I won't "chastise" you for your choice- if it works for you, it works!! Enough said...

doug, what is YOUR point????????
Are you saying because of your tunnel vision approach to the industry that you view alternative methods as a threat to your existence?  It seems you feel your professionalism has been called into question.  hwe as its place as does VLM.  I don't do Damage and Restoration work so I really can see very little use for an hwe in my business anymore.

Actually, these spots where there after the carpets were cleaned by someone else, before they were cleaned by them and after I cleaned them three times.  When I went back this last time VLM did more than make them disappear, unlike the other times where they returned after 2 weeks, they are simply gone.

Sorry gentlemen, but try as you may you cannot argue away success.  I am a convert who once believed as you HWE guys go.  For general carpet cleaning, my belief is VLM outperforms HWE.

I will always keep my HWE equipment around for times when I may need to shampoo and rinse - also for large spills and treatment of urine using the waterclaw.  I am convinced that the right tool for the right job should be the rule.  Why use an axe where a scalpel is needed?

Soil Lint, who's to say the same wouldn't have happened in reverse? You've VLM'd after HWE, meaning the HWE probably took out the bulk and VLM then just finished it off, so it's an unfair conclusion.

Had you VLM'd first and had that result (and yes, it can happen!) then HWE'd you'd have drawn the same unfair conclusion. No offence taken by your choice of weapon and why should anyone be offended, but call a spade a spade and at least make comparisons fair.

In my experience, occasionally VLM will out-perform HWE, at other times the reverse is true, you have to learn how to deal with both systems effectively and both will give you great results in the right context...

I went over spots on carpet that when I did them with a HWE they came back in 2 months.  I believe that to be a wicking effect.

Same spots 4 months later, gone.  VLM alternatives do not promote wicking, including delayed wicking since they do not reactivate whatever is down below what the eye can see.

Hate to say this but I will believe what I see before I will buy what I hear.

My hope is that nobody will take offense at my decision to hold fast to my principles and choose to disagree with the argument that HWE has some superior edge of any VLM methodology.

Freshaire, you need some.
Are you in a high paying business or are you just a self employed low paid grunt who thinks this business provides dignity?

It's the longest, loveliest, lean-- I call it the leanest
It's another five letter word rhymin' with cleanest and meanest
I won't get into that, I'll do it...ah...sorta properly
I say the last P...hmmm...stands for property
Now lady here comes a kiss, blow a kiss back to me

Come on, come on, now let me tell you what it's all about
When you get down, you can't go 'round runnin' off at the mouth
That's rule number one in this OPP establishment
You keep your mouth shut and it won't get back to her or him

Many of you will catch the same sorta OPP is you with
Him or her for sure is going to admit it
When OPP comes, damn-- skippy I'm with it

You down with OPP (Yeah you know me)
