Okay, I am new to all of this, been trying to research a bit, but not finding any major information. I recently purchased 2 wool rugs, one is 8'8"x12 the other 8'x10'. The larger is a lustre washed worsted yarn rug by Karastan. The other is a Pottery Barn Teen wool rug. The karastan rug has some rough spots that are hard/crusted from dirt, and there may be stains there, I won't know until I manage to get the dirt out. The pottery barn rug is heavily stained, I have not looked it over thoroughly yet, but what i have seen so far is huge yellow staining, I am guessing dog urine, a small black or drak brown stain, and a grey stain that seems like part of the rug but isn't. I am planning this weekend to use a scrubbing broom, just a cheap thing that woolite sells, and possibly try the woolite pod and some resolve high traffic foaming cleaner and maybe oxi clean or something else just to give these carpets a good general cleaning. However I am not sure if this is good or even acceptable for wool, and both are very soft and I do not want to damage the pile or texture of the rugs just by trying to clean them, so if anyone has any advice for me I would greatly appreciate it. Also the pottery barn teen rug doesn't matter much to me, I am trying to clean it with cheap products you can buy at a walmart or grocery store, nothing expensive like an enzyme cleaner, at least not yet.

Also the Karastan rug has some sun wear on one side, and while this might not be the best forum to ask, I was wondering if anyone knows about costs to have carpets redyed, I am probably not going to do this anytime in the near future, but still am curious. Thanks.
