i just purchased a used chem tex 15 and i am not getting suction is there a gear or something between the blower and power source? there is a gap between the two end rotaters at the end of each shaft what turns  the blower? am i missing a part?

This is a Spitfire 3.2 but it might be similar where the engine shaft drives the blower.

The picture is correct. there is an composite coupler between them, it can transfer the power.
