Please do not take my comment below to be rude because it is not meant to be such. However, it is more of an observation:

It amazes me how many Operators either do not know, or are not able to reason why they may have a "pressure drop" when reading the gauge while triggering their wands.

Sometimes I have even heard one state that "Gee's when I trigger the wand, it (the psi gauge reading)almost drops to -0-!

Well, one may ask: is there water coming out of the wand jets? "Oh, ya, but the gauge reads -0-!"

Well, then, if water is coming out of your wand jets then it can't be -0-!! And, no, your pump isn't defective.

Now, I could go into a elaboration on this particular subject even explaining the difference between how a "regulator" operates, and how a "unloader" operates; the differences between the two. However, a verbal explaination would be much simpler than hitting the key board thus putting it into words.

Sometimes I ask myself (in a non-selfish way, btw) how we ("the old timers") ever figured all the logistics out some 40 years ago when this Industry was in its infancy and consequently we really had no one to ask. In other words, we had to figure it our on our own, never complaining about it.......................and keep on cleaning! In those days we were forced to figure things out and never had anyone to direct our complaints to. We just kept on building our businesses looking at no one other than ourselves.

best to all;
Ed Valentine

Andy;

You are right, and that's pretty much what one should do.
