So how do you keep your TM or portyTM water from freezing during the wintertime? is there a chemical used, used like the windshield wipers solution?

keep your porty inside at night. and park your TM in a heated garage.

We use windshield wiper fluid through the water system and a oil heater leaning against the heat exchanger.

It stays warm in your van when you turn the heat on right...so why would it be freezing if you have a oil heater inside???? It shouldn't......

Greg.......that job to job must have been far apart and temperature had to be well below zero for your Ninja pump to freeze that fast.....maybe you took too long of a lunch hour and don't want to admit it.

Drug it out through the yard and snow packed the pump.

Now we get to the truth Greg...............it wasn't going job to job that froze your pump...........it was from leaving it in your truck from the morning until you got back at night that froze your pump.........big difference and makes sense now.

adwa that was my hole point. steamer said he leaves his outside all night because it's insulated. my point was my pump froze during the day going job to job. my van had time to heat up a bit from job to job too and it still froze. toronto's winters are alot colder than halifax's. i would think that over night, insulated or not, things would still freeze.

Anywhere that the temp is below -5C overnight, I would suggest a heated garage. Much simpler than worrying about whether your gonna freeze

To keep my portable machine from turning into an ice sculpture, I usually add some RV antifreeze to the water system. It's like a winter coat for my equipment. Also, wrapping exposed pipes with insulation and parking indoors whenever possible are my go-to moves. Anyone else have some winter wizardry to share? Let's keep those carpet cleaning machines thawed and ready for action! Clap
