go with three #2 jets.

Ok. The 2 jets deliver more heat to the carpet due to the larger dropet size of the spray pattern. They are also very inexpensive wands compared to the 4 jetters. Expect to pay $300 to $400 for a good wand. The 4 jet wand is usually more heavy duty like like the Prochem Quadjet and will last longer, but expect to pay $500 to $600 for one of these. The water will cool more than it would from a 2 jet wand because of the finer jets used with causes faster cooldown from the aeration of the spray once it leave the jets.

many believe the quad jetters to be better but personally I prefer 2 or 3 jet wands

more jets and larger jets equals more pressure drop when you pull the trigger.

I guess if your machine cannot handle a 4 jet a 2 jet will have to do then? I had a 2 jet stair tool at one time. I think it came from Pro Chem.

In the real world you should have a couple of wands so you can match the cleaning action to the soiling conditions you are dealing with, the other option is to have different size jets available and change them according to soiling conditions

Sounds like the one I have: Prochem with two jets. Been very happy with it.

Has anyone tried the Sonic type wand seen in trade magazines that forces the water out in pulsations?

If this works as well as it sounds it should save a few backs while cleaning better.

Any comments?

If you and your machine  have the capability to do the proper job than why not utilize them??

Yep, I have tried it at Connections. Save your money on this one. The difference is barely noticeable, and certainly not worth the $500US premium this device adds to the price of a wand. Your money is much better spent adding either a Green Glide or Superglide to your wand for only $169. Then you can turn your pressure up 200 psi and benefit from the Superior cleaning you will get from the better flushing you will create in the carpet. And that difference will be very noticeable, both in the appearence and the less wear and tear on your body from the reduced effort to move the wand..
