I have had enough, when it comes to dealing with parts people.

The seal behind my flywheel on my prochem legend has been leaking some oil..

call prochem to see if the have them in stock....NO it'll take 10 to 14 days because they have to order them through Kohler....Angry

ok Call Kohler ...sorry you have to deal with one of our distributors....Angry

ok call the distributor......a guy close to home has one seal in stock...I pop out the old seal to make sure that it's the same seal....when I get there it's not the same seal.  The new seal is about 1/2 inch thinner...but the diameter is the same...

I say to the guy "THAT AINT IT"Angry...he argues that "YES IT IS"...he's been dealing with these engines since JOHNNY WAS A BAKER

ok take the darn thing back home  go through all the trouble to install the damn thing....start the engine.....OIL EVERYWHERE IT'S WORSE!Angry

I got jobs...only one truck..I'M PISSEDAngryAngry

Had to work...so kept topping it up with oil....Angry

Got the right seal today, by calling every Kohler agent in the GTA..Confused

call the idiots at 9 AM....the guy said he would check stock and call me right back..AngryYEAH RIGHT

12:30 pm I call them...only to be put on hold while the guy looks for the part...which he said he would do from 9Angry

then he cuts me off...Angry

He calls back.... he has one the only one in all of the GTA!Ouch

so today I couldn't do any jobs...had to pull down the prochem again...and re-install the right sealAngry

on the bright side it's workingBig smile

anyone else go through this BULL????
Is it just here in Canada???
or is it everywhere???

I went through that same experience several times. I once had a parts person tell me that I should have an extra part for everything, My response to that was "then what do I need you for I'll just open up my own parts store" Angry

Move out here to the arm pit of the world and try to find parts for anything?? The cost of return shipping of wrong parts is more than the price of the part?

The part number are also all screwed up...prochem re numbers the parts...so I got the kohler list now...and still they can't get me the right part.

there is no winning....I could bring it somewhere...but it would cost me 500 dollars to change a .50cent part  and I would still have to wait

I need it today...it takes 10 days for a new engine....you have to get it to spec.....shaft has to be the right size...etc...

plus they cost around $3000...all I need is a seal

NO ROOM...MEANS 100% WRITE OFF....I had a problem with the government one year where they dis-allowed the 100% writeoff on both my vans...  I emailed them a pic.....problem solved...lol  btw the hp is live

I had that unit back in 1985 LOL....NO SUCTION, NO PRESSURE, & NO HEAT. That thing should be in the Hall of Shame. You should have the big white whale from Ted when you had a chance......I never put a penny in repairs in that truck and it 's still in excellent working condition.

Posted By: nightrider

Hammy.........I'm not sure of the hours, the truck was hardly used when I purchased it from KleenKuip and I doubt very much that I put 100 hours on it. To take a guess I would have to say less than 1000 hours. It has been in storage for the past 2 years.
