hii,
i use with red stains remover and iron method to remove red\pink spots... and it never come out. also, sometimes i can't remove ink, and i tell my customers that is damage. some one know how to resolve this problem forever?! cuz, sometimes my customers very upset... thank you very much, Ta. |

First off I start the problem elimination process back at the initial call,
part of the prep on each call is that I ask the customer if " there are any particular concerns or problems with the carpet" . They will inevitable tell you about the red dye stain or the gum or the vomit or what have you. ( giving you a chance to educate and Cover Your A$$ ) 2. Ask if they have used anything on the carpet as far as other chemicals, and also how long the problem or stain has been there. 3. I inform them that the application of certain incorrect chemicals and or time can set stains. But we will try our best. then I prepare them for possible bad results. ( Sell Low, then exceed their expectations) 4. You have now placed ownership of these stain on the owner where they belong. 5. As far as the red dyes and the Ink read Jeff Cross's advice archives http://www.cleanprosonline.com/Ink_removal.html and http://www.cleanprosonline.com/Red_stain_removal.html and brush up on some of the advice from others here. Ink, I tell the customer that Ink spreads very drastically when you use Ink removers and you can end up with a bigger problem by trying to remove. If it is larger a a pencil eraser I will not attempt it. Got one out the other day with InkSolv from Chemspec or prochem worked it toward the center and was sucessful but you really have to pre-qualify and let the customer know that the results can often be less than ideal. UPFRONT Honesty is always best . Advise before is educating the customer, explaining afterwards is called excuses. |

What are you useing? stain magic? I use juice-out from core products, and this works great.
It took me 45 minutes to remove a 6" diameter pink/red stain.. You have to keep applying the chem and iron untill all or almost all of it is obsorbed.
After each attempt, rinse out your white towel of the dye. Reapply the chem, set your damp towel on it then iron. Over and over again and again. It takes time.
Charge accordingly. good info what danmark said..

I had my first Iron/red pink stain.That takes forever. Man I did not it was that long.How should you charge for red stain removal?Most of my customers have never seen an Iron used to erase red stains and look in shock!It's cool though it gets a little fustrating at times put keep using the cloths. ------------- "DO YOUR BEST" |

I tell them upfront there is a 45.00 minimum charge for red dye removal ( small spot ) and we have experienced about a 75% chance of complete removal . it may lighten and still have some pink tone left. but we do charge regardless for our efforts, so it is up to you if you would like me to continue on that basis.

We use a chemical called RED 1 forgot who its made by but my boss who has 15+ years of experience tought me how to get up pretty much any red stain.... Put the chemical on the stain get a wet rag heat up a clothing iron and place it over the wet rag for about 15-30 seconds depending on the carpet and how bad the stain is do it a few times and usually will come out. However it will stink like burnt carpet but if you don't leave it long enough to actually singe the carpet you will be fine. It sometimes works with ink also. The iron method i just described works perfectly for wax also. Im sure you guys already knew this though. For gum we use Citrus Gel and a pocket knife (don't cut the carpet just hold the blade straight up and down and go back and forth like a scraper) i think its made by prochem but im not sure.. |
