HEY GUYS, I WOULD LIKE TO ask for your personal opinion on software usage for carpet cleaning business. Ive used pre-printed invoices, however i have to finally get into this computer thing ive tried simply accounting which is a bit confusing and 30 day trial of castle rock which is just horrible...in beta mode. I was hoping for something for sophisticated or more user friendly but .. is there any other affordable softwares out there specifically for carpet cleaning or cleaning business? thank you ------------- Pollux Systems |

You're in the wrong business or you're not making any money.
Time to get out if you cant support the business with the proper back office requirements.
You have to charge enough for your services to be able to afford all the proper equipment, computers, phones, printers etc...
Dont just make enough to buy another box of KD to feed the kids.

Quickbooks works fine. You just have to take the time to customize it to your needs.

For those of you old enough to remember shareware download in the days of BBSes, you should recognize that QuickBooks is a descendant of a program written by the man who is the founder of GoDaddy. Yes Suzie, there was life before the internet.

Did you ck out ayanova? Its all you need
at a reasonable price. You have to be nuts
to pay a G for software.
 And Most of the software, well you can get it
all free if you know how.!!!!

Thanks to all the responses, and sorry i've been late on the reply...have been out of town. Holidays  I lucked out, a friend owns several businesses and runs quickbooks enterprise edition. This edition allows you to use the "contractors" edition which is great for people in the service industry. I think it's an expensive program but he added me as a legal user so I can use the software legally with no problems. I agree, spending a G on software seems unnecessary when there are alternatives for less than half the price. I think you can buy a stand alone version of quickbooks contractors edition for just a couple hundred bucks. It's worked out great for me. Scheduling Manager software, from Thoughtful Systems. They have been designing software for 24 years, for the carpet cleaning industry and other service businesses. It includes scheduling, customer info, accounting, mapping, payroll and comes with a powerful e-mail module for marketing. The main version is stand-alone, and will run fine on a network with 3 (or more) users. |

I know the software very well. As for price, Thoughtful Systems has programs starting from $595. As your business expands, you can add additional modules. I think it's worth it. |
