As it requires more frequent cleaning it is better served by a systematic maintenance program.

Pre-Cleaning Inspection
Things to consider are traffic and soiling conditions, amount of down time required for drying, carpet construction and type of installation, as well as customer expectations and budget. Look for any pre-existing conditions such as spots, stains, excessive wear, open seams or any other type of damage.

Preparation of Carpet
At Kleen Kuip, we have always been firm believers in the need for power pile lifting of all heavy traffic areas in commercial installations. This procedure lifts crushed carpet pile and thoroughly removes dry particulate soil. Pile lifting should precede all wet cleaning techniques, and is specified by many commercial mills.

Cleaning Techniques
All commercial maintenance should begin with a corrective cleaning system in order to obtain the desired appearance level that is to be maintained. This initial cleaning may be accomplished using the multi-functional Chemstractor or Chemstractor V as a rotary shampoo extractor.
The Rotary Extraction method may be used with a variety of specific shampoos depending on the nature of the soil and the maintenance schedule. Enzyme Carpet Shampoo is instrumental for the cleaning of food service areas while Professional Carpet Shampoo and our premier Formula 161 Soil Retardant Shampoo is most appropriate for other commercial carpet installations.
Once the optimal appearance is initially obtained, that appearance level should be systematically maintained with a routine schedule of power pile lifting and bonnet cleaning. Both Chemstractor models as well as the Roto-Brite Bonnet Machine are ideally suited to offer maximum productivity. Bonnet cleaning is best performed using specially formulated Roto-Brite products. Non-Residual Roto-Brite is the most effective solutions available while the Soil Retardant Roto-Brite with Stainshield offers a continuous fluorochemical application which will prolong the time between scheduled cleanings.
