What To Look For

Pet urine will fluoresce a dull yellow. On occasion, you may find other fluorescent material that will illuminate. Optical brighteners found in some detergents can leave a residue that will fluoresce a brilliant blue-white. Pet urine will appear as a weaker fluorescence when compared to these optical brighteners. Keep in mind what you see is only the center of the contaminated area underneath the carpet, the size of the spot is 2 to 3 times larger than what shows on the surface. Be sure to use plenty of Stain and odor remover to take care of the problem.

Warning:

With any type of ultra violet light it is always recommended to use UV protective eye wear. We recommend using our Blaze amber safety glasses with any UV light. They will keep your eyes safe from the UV rays and they help make the urine deposits illuminate brighter.

When performing a urine inspection always remember that the urine will spread 2-3 times the area on the backing and the pad.
