Cleaners have been causing damage to carpets for ever and ever , and they have used all of the cleaning methods available. Not that long ago on this board I read someone saying he puts bleach in his portable all the time, he may get away with it for years, but soon or later he will run into a problem.

You read it all the time on these boards, people can't be happy with the way manufacturers make products, they need to start mixing two or three ingredients to make a better cleaner, and than coming screaming on these boards about what crappy products XYZ company makes.
