Anything said before is Educating the customer
Anything said after is making excuses
Very simple! and something that will keep your butt out of trouble many times over!!!!

Qualify every possible problem , even if you have to call the customer before you get started if they are not home. let them know what you found, and what results they may have to accepts.
Under sell the job..... Then outperform their expectations. in an honest and upfront way.
