Carpet cleaner robbed while working

The Wichita Eagle

A 41-year-old carpet-cleaning company employee was robbed while working at a house in the 5100 block of east Zimmerly around 10:45 a.m. Friday, said Wichita Police Department Sgt. Bruce Watts.

The employee was running carpet-cleaning equipment through the home's front door to a back bedroom, and was listening to headphones when a man entered the home and demanded the employee's wallet and cell phone.

The intruder, described as a black, 18 to 20 years old, about 6 foot 1 and 185 pounds, was armed with a silver handgun.

No arrests have been made.

The employee was not harmed, Watts said, and police reports didn't show any of the home's belongings as stolen.
