Author: TMF
Subject: 5600
Posted: 24/January/2009 at 9:19pm

Here is a audio version of a interview that took place over at ProCleaners Network with Rob Allen.*Questions from Craig Wise, (Mikey Pasks Rob about White Magic), Mike griffin, John B and many more! (Eventalks about Howard Partridge, Lisa Wagner, SFS Class and Bridgepoint!!)

Click here to download: http://www.truckmountforums.com/mp3/roballen.mp3

---------------

Also here is a DIFFERENT text interview that was asked by Rich Eden.

1) How long have you been a rug sucka' for?
23 years in business for myself. I have cleaned around 10,000 homes in my career.

2) How did you get started cleaning carpets?
Ilost my job in small appliances. I had just bought a home, was newlymarried and had a baby (Tre,who now is 26). Desperate times call fordesperate measures. I remember Sandee and I went door to door sellingcarpet spotters. At one house a lady asked me if I would clean hercarpets. I said sure, went home and got a Kirby vacuum shampooer and didthe job. Customer kiddingly said she could have done that. So I went toa hardware store bought sheet metal and fitted it over the Kirby. Icleaned till I could afford a Von Schrader and then over the years Ihave built it to a strong and profitable running 4 truck mountoperation. I had more trucks before, but I enjoy being this size. Igrew too fast for awhile and now I am revamping my whole company fromtop to bottom to give it a much stronger foundation and fresh look torun off in the future. It's added a lot of excitement and we'll seewhere it takes us!

3) What are the top 3 things you attribute to your successful business?
Top 3? Hmm,Sandee, Tre and hunger,lol.
Now the three outside forces we're the 3 principles in business I live by.

1)Treatpeople the way I want to be treated. People do business with people. Welike to have fun while still being respectful. My customers love ourfriendly, confident and positive people.

2)Proverb, "Have you beheld a man skilled at his work? He will station himself before kings."
Wowwhat can I say? Nothing means more than quality. I strive everyday tobe better and increase my knowledge. Customers and employees sense mycommitment and it creates lifelong customers.

3)What you do speaks so loud I can't hear what you say.

Customersare sometimes two-faced. They will tell you that you are great to yourface but when you leave they will say, I'll never have that guy backagain. So you can tell the customer that your are the best thing sincesliced bread but if your not delivering then "what you do will speak soloud they wont be able to hear what you say."

4) How do you manage your time?
Carefully.I am a STRONG proponent of writing everything down. Each year I write abusiness plan with a list of things to accomplish by the end of theyear. I will say this, EVERYTHING I have ever written down I haveaccomplished. There is something about the human mind that has theability to practically fulfill anything you write down. I have made upa one page sheet that I write it down on and then I add and subtractthru-out the year as I accomplish my goals. So I know I drive somecrazy around me but I tell them if you really want to be successful, then WRITE it down!

5) What do you enjoy doing when you have time off?

Golf, basketball and lately I have become addicted to Flashchat here on TMF.It's really cool being able to instantly chat with cleaners worldwideto share knowledge, inquire about industry matters and just flat outshoot the breeze. It's a blast! My wife thinks I'm crazy sometimesbecause Im laughing at the laptop. Also I have become quite a typisttoo.

6)Feel free to add anything else too!
anything else.

Ihave always said "success is the progressive realization of a goal". Itis fulfilling and rewarding to accomplish our goals. But it is evenmore important to realize life is short, so have fun, love God, yourfamily and friends. Because you can't take it with you with your gonebut you will pass on your legacy to your next generation.

--
Thanks for reading!

Tre
TruckMountForums

Edited by TMF - 24/January/2009 at 9:24pm
