Hi im new here and im having a problem with my truckmount. im hoping some of the seasoned vets can tune in and help.     its an older dixie steamway 4000 with kerosene heat. also i cleaned a houselast night with no heat customer insisted to do it but after half way through it shut down from dead battery? i dont know if the batts just old or the generator is bad? would a bad generator result in no heat as well? also gimmie your two cent on the brand etc.. even if its bashing i dont mind. just would like to know honest opinions thanks in advance

Sonny:

These machines have been problematic for quite a few people that own them. I used to work in a shop that serviced them about 6 to 7 years ago and saw many have this problem. Kerosene works great when it works, but too often, it doesn't. Most of the problems center around the ignitor or flow control switch.Hope that helps you know where to look, but my advice is to switch over to a more reliable unit, like a Powerclean machine.

Just go to a oil burner repair man it is the same burner as on an oil furnace. It will be much cheaper?

thanks man i think ive narrowed it down to the electrodes in the burner or the rectifier on the kohler. the ignitor seems to check out and i jumped out the waterflow switch but sometimes im only getting 9 volts @ the ignitor! wierd??
