Since I am a noob, I had a question about green chems and their relationship to anti allergy chems.....Just because green chems have the less harsh chemicals in them, does this mean they are also anti allergy.  If not what makes anti allergy different than green chemicals that green seal might approve of.  I am interested in marketing this angle, but I can't find any good resources for info.  Thanks for any help.

I use green chemicals only.  For us tree huggers the main selling points are:

  • Meets or exceed the EPA's DfE Guidelines
  • Biodegradable
  • Phosphate Free
  • Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) compliant
They do what many of our customers here in the Pacific Northwest are looking for in a product or service.  The job gets done and nobody or no thing gets hurt now or in the future.

Baby Safe, Pet Safe, Eco-Friendly.  While they may have less of an affect on those prone to allergic reactions to specific chemicals, the green seal program is about the DfE and VOC.  There are benchmarks the product must meet to be certified green.

My preference is ProChem's AXIOM line but there are others.  I just stick with what works for me here in Oregon.  And I do talk it up with other like-minded tree huggers here.  You can create a greater value in the mind of the customer which supports a higher price.  Most things I have seen that are Green do sell for more and it appears to me they have a selective target market that understands price should not be the deciding factor when presented with a choice between plain MEAN and save the planet GREEN.

Bottom line, I don't believe you can factually draw a connection between Allergen treatments and Green solutions.

But I could be wrong.

Anti allergen products have stuff in there that deactivates the dust mite feces (thats what causes allergy) and just normal Green products dont.

If you need to know what chems is in there that deactivates the feces, Then I suggest you go and talk to Shawn forsythe about it.

Allergy relief treatment changes the shape of the allergen so that the body does not recognize it as such so then there is no allergic reaction. Masterblend has a lot of info on this on there site.

I like that explanation of allergen treatment.

"Allergy relief treatment changes the shape of the allergen so that the body does not recognize it as such so then there is no allergic reaction."

So simple and so clear.  Good work.

it's all relative

In my town there are a series of hills to the south, they are full of cedar.  When the wind kicks up its hell to everyone with allergies.  So any kind of relief will be a huge seller here.

At this time of year, its grass crops (not the smoking kind) and nasty cottonwoods in the immediate area here in our valley.  But we get mold spores along with plant pollen.  Depends on the time of year.
