max age... some good 10yr old Prochems still around, that's what I run and have yet to find a machine that can outperform it by such a degree that it's worthwhile trading up to!

If it's a 2 cyl aircooled unit and has more than 2500-3500hrs on an original engine, avoid it unless it's cheap enough to include a replacement engine in your budget, for a 2 cyl water cooled 5,000hrs is the max you'll normally get out of the motor and with an engine larger than that e.g.  Nissan A12/A15 engines or Kubota diesel/petrol units, 5,000hrs is still  a good one as long as it has a service history to go with it!

And if it has the words "Briggs and Stratton" stamped anywhere on it, RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN!!!

I am lookin at the Recoil,,,,,,but it's just tough for me to go from a TM guy to a porty guy......I dont have alot of experience running a porty

but I do see a niche market for it in my city

btw,,,,i'd go slide in if i decided to get an old beast TM,,,,,along the lines of a Legend,,,boxer,,,,whatever

i was working across the street from a van I looked seriously at a while back,,,,the guy is retired and isn't advertising the van,,,,,it has low miles and hours on an Aquatech pto.............sounds like we can make a deal and he only wants $10,000 with hoses reels,,,hydroforce,,water claw,,,wand,,stair tool,,,uph. tool ,,,summer winter tires etc.

very tempting

You'll be a business owner again, without the Steamway grief. Just do an outstanding job, the rest will come. Don't look behind, look forward.
