• Ice cubes or a freezer pack
• Plastic bag
• Butter knife or spoon
• Clean, white cloth or paper towels
• Iron
• Brown paper bag

1. Freeze the Wax: Place ice cubes or a freezer pack over the wax to harden it. This usually takes about 10-15 minutes.
2. Scrape off Excess Wax: Once the wax is frozen, use a butter knife or spoon to gently scrape off as much of the hardened wax as possible. Be careful not to damage the carpet fibers.
3. Plastic Bag and Iron Method: Place a plastic bag over the remaining wax.
4. Set the iron to a low heat setting (no steam) and gently iron the plastic bag. The heat will cause the wax to melt and stick to the plastic.
5. Blot with Cloth or Paper Towels: Lift the plastic bag and quickly blot the area with a clean, white cloth or paper towels. The wax should transfer from the carpet to the cloth.
6. Repeat if Necessary: If there's still wax residue, repeat the process until you've removed as much wax as possible.
7. Brown Paper Bag Method: Place a brown paper bag over the wax residue. Again, use the iron on a low setting to heat the wax. The wax should transfer from the carpet to the paper bag.
8. Final Cleanup: Blot the area with a clean cloth or paper towels to remove any remaining wax.

Always be cautious with the iron to avoid damaging the carpet.

Heat transfer using brown paper or a cloth with an iron is the traditional approach, and it has worked well for meover the years, but it is time consuming and with the current passion for candles a quicker option is welcome. Also with many varing dyes in wax you need to be carfull with heat transfer on some synthetics and particulary wool, as where heat is applied the pigment is liberated from the wax and on to the yarn and under heat it can set. 
 
I use Eco Spotter as it is highly effective against most inks, it not only keeps most of the pigment encapsulated in the post-wax emmulsion, it also tackles the pigment released whilst the wax is in it's molten state .

To solve this thick wax problem I would first shatter, spray it with (stone cold) Solutions Eco Spotter (micro splitter plus alcohol), prod it with the scraper to mix - and a minute later it  should have the constituency of thick cream. Remove with scraper, another light spray with eco then extract with warm/ hot water.    

Then we'll have to lassoo you and use duct tape

Wow!  I had no idea that wax was such a hot topic! 

We tried the iron / towel method and it worked like a charm.  We have now put irons in the vans.
