    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.kleenkuip.com/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=601">duckcountry</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 2556<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 02/November/2009 at 1:33pm<br /><br />Prespray with Tide, use a pressure washer if it won't fit in a washing machine.&nbsp; <br><br>Drying it is simple.&nbsp; I find the dryer being set to permanent press cycle is the best however if you cannot get the desired result try a light spray of premium grade gasoline before holding a match 2 meters away from the sofa.&nbsp; This may darken the fabric but a strong bottle of bleach should fade those stains right away.&nbsp; Watch your customer's eyes pop in amazement.<br><br>Thompsons Water Seal is the best fabric protectant on the market and is available in a wide array of colors to match the upholstery.<br><br>If you need any further professional recommendations don't be afraid to ask.<br>]]>

Again, professional is the ideal way togo. That said, the following are the most common methods ofself-cleaning a velvet sofa: <br><br> Use rag dampened withdishwashing liquid in water. Wipe down the entire sofa and allow to airdry. Use a soft hairbrush brushing the entire nap in one direction,then in the other direction. Repeat the brushing a few times as thefabric dries. <br><br> Use a commercial upholstery foam that can be vacuumed from the fabric without disturbing the nap. <br><br>If the stain is removed and the sofa is clean, you may want to considertreating your sofa with Scotchguard or other fabric protectant.]]>
