That is because most people either are just guessing or repeating a theory they read or heard somewhere. Most will not spend the $1000+US that it costs to buy a good anemometer guage to actually see if they are right about what they are saying.

Then they need to know how to use it right. On a TM system, you need to block off the vacuum relief so that the air that enters the hose and wand is the only air going in when you do your measurement, UNLESS you want to find the NET amount of air going into the wand during use conditions. Remember that most vacuum releifs start opening at only 8" HG. By the time the vacuum level hits 15"HG as much as 1/2 the airflow coming into the system is coming into the relief valve, and not the wand where you want it. Most guys cannot understand that this is happening. They cannot see or touch it, so their mind can not understand it. That is why confusion exists.

No Doug, when you dual wand the blower does not move more air. It take a set amount of air with every rotation of the lobes. What happens when you dual wand is that you stop losing vacuum to the relief valve. More air is now coming in through 2 hoses. This lowers the lift from say 15"HG at the tank to around 12"HG. Thus if the relief is a Kunkle set at 14"HG, it never gets to open.The blower has already got 2.5" inlet and exhaust openings if it is a #45 blower. Using 2 2" hoses to the house is a waste for most systems. SGK when you dual wand the blower moves more air does it not? Now you have 2 2" hoses much less restriction on the blower. So to gain you would have to replumb your blower to 2.5" to make any difference. Some are running 2 2" hoses than reducing to one to go into the house. that I think is a waste. Bob: Chuck(Dennis)only pops in if he thinks he has got something negative to say that you guys dont yet know about. Even a broken record like him needs a rest. I heard that he is pissed that my nipples are not there like before as well.

Now on the hose size thing, there is alot of hot air being blown around by guys that make money selling it.Most guys that clean primarily residential carpet do not need more than 100 or 150 ft of house at least 90% of the time or more.Look at these numbers on flow capacity:

2.5" hose will flow 700 cfm @12"HG
2.0" hose will flow 500 cfm @12"hg
1.5" hose will flow 275 cfm @12"hg
1.5" wand will flow 255 cfm @12"hg- On carpet@200 cfm with glide
2.0" Wand will flow 500 cfm @12 hg- On carpet@225 cfm with glide

Now notice that the wand will not flow even up to the capacity of a 10 ft whip hose- when the wand is on the carpet working! If you just want to move more air with it off the carpet, then it make a difference in the sound it makes as another 50 cfm go thru it. But that is not what we want right?

You can also see that 2" hose can flow 500 cfms on a 100 ft length of hose as well.Problem is, for most that is far above what their equipment puts out and their wands will flow, even with the glides on.Cleanco machines with a 45 blower will not move more than about 250 cfm at the blower, machines like Dougs Performers are only good for 300 cfm as well. Both types will not flow much more than 200 cfms even with glides on their wands. So how do you need a bigger hose that will move 700 cfms? IMO, you don't. Frictional losses in the hose are slightly lower, but not enough to warrent buying this stuff. Those that use over 200 ft of hose from the truck for commercial work will see a benefit in useing the first 100 ft from the truck in it, but that is not most of us. Even if your cfm was to bump up 20 more cfms from it's use, most of you would not notice. It does boost performance on all blowers of 5.6 or larger that put out more than 500 cfms at the blower. But again, that is not most of us.

I use 10 ft whips on all wands that are 1.5" and suffer no performance lose. The Ti wands and CMP wands get direct 2" hose of course.
