Thank you, I am going to print this and make HUBBY READ IT!!!!!!  I told him, I am just the "old lady," but in my mind if there was something you could add to quicken up the drying time, they would already be selling something similar for painting walls, so nobody would have to wait the time it takes for paint to dry.

I am his "unpaid secretary" who he commissions to find info on the net, since he cannot even turn a computer on by himself. 

 

So, his newest quest for me is this:  He is finding that the time it takes to allow a coat of finish is taking too long.  He says it takes about 30 minutes per coat to dry.  With this time needed between each coat, and the time to strip, and buff and whatever else is involved in stripping/waxing VCT floors, it is taking him 8 hours to finish a job.  He does not know the brand of the finish he is using, but I can get that, but he told me this past week he went into his supplier to buy more finish and was complaining how long it took to dry, and they sold him a cheaper finish that dried faster, but was much less glossy looking, so he did 2 coats of this cheaper finish and then 1 of the better longer drying finish and that worked good; however, he wants to know if there is something you can add to the better finish that will quicken the drying time?  I have researched the net extensively, see opinions of other people who do this and saw about the use of air movers, applying thinner coats, making sure humidity is not too high, and even saw a machine that cures finish immediately with ultraviolet light. 

 

My questions are, does anybody know of anything to add to floor finish that will hasten the drying process, while leaving a nice glossy finish, and can anybody tell me the approximate cost of this new ultraviolet machine? 

find a brochure by the company that makes this machine, but cannot find pricing anywhere.
