What you need to do is put some tack strip around the edge of the rad then maybe just mabye the carpet may stretch the 1/8" necessary to fit properly. It is not the method that causes it is the operater that causes the damage.

I had carpet installed almost a year ago. I want to get it professionally cleaned. I have base moulding made from MDF...painted, of course...what type of cleaning method do you recommend?..(will steam damage the moulding). Also...I had my carpet installers carpet right up to a radiator cover I had built. I have removed the cover and put it back in place a few months ago. Now...there is about a 1/8" gap from the radiator cover to the carpet. Can carpet "shrink"..and what do I need to do to rectify this problem.

Thanks
Melissa
