Close all the lights and look at the rug with a Ultra Violet light .     <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.kleenkuip.com/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=2152">ScottsDryFoam</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 5677<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 23/February/2009 at 9:37pm<br /><br />Hi, I'm new here and I just wanted to find out if anyone else had ever had this problem.&nbsp; I've been cleaning carpets since 1997 and never run into this one before!<DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>I cleaned a 12 yr. old Kazakhstan rug the other day and the woman complained the next day that&nbsp;it looked blotchy.&nbsp; She's a regular and I've cleaned that same rug 4 or 5 times with no problems.&nbsp; I thought maybe it had a brownout problem but when I went back that wasn't it.&nbsp; It was the grain of the rug.&nbsp; It needed brushed down the right way and in some spots it therefore looked blotchy.&nbsp; But here's the wierd thing: I had brushed it all one way and when I tried to do so again, it only got rid of the blotches on one side.&nbsp; They then appeared if you looked at the same spot from the opposite side of the carpet.&nbsp; </DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>So we could get it looking really good if you stood on one side of the room but it looked terrible if you stood on the other side of it.&nbsp; Fix a blotch to go away and then it appeared from the opposite direction.&nbsp; Wierder still, stand in front, rather to either side, and some of the blotches appeared as way too bright spots instead!</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>There seemed to be no way to groom the carpet to make it look normal again from any angle.&nbsp; But as I said, I'd cleaned this carpet before and nothing like this ever happened.&nbsp; I also cleaned 6 other Orientals in their house that day and all of them were just fine.</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>Anyone else ever have this happen to an Oriental rug?</DIV>]]>
