Whilst it's important to know your costs cos they all add up, chemicals are a very small percentage. Like fuel for your TM and TAXES, the more you spend each month the more you will be making.

Worry about -

Advertising that yields nothing

Equipment that breaks down

Buying new equipment that just gathers dust.

this question cannot be answered by anyone at this point except for jack.  first you have to decide what chems you are going to use.  if you chose a cheap cleaner you will use more and and a more expensive one dilution maybe less.  You have to find what works best for you this may take awhile because what works well for others may not work for you as quality means nothing for some.  As far as putting a priceon how much per job only a moron would try and tell you how much as there are too many variabils. ie amount of soiling fiber type open areas commericial residential each one has its own problems and solutions and many on here can assist you greatly if and when you get started. so good luck and don't worry so much about how much as this will decrease as you gain experience. I allow for usually no more than $5 worth of chemical per hour of carpet cleaning.
But I charge my sweat and 20 years of training, experience and knowledge out at a minimum of $100 per hour.

Hello, my name is Brandon, and I'm new to the business and looking forward in pursuing this career field! But seeing as how I'm still 2 months away from my carpet cleaning tech class that will (at least I hope) thoroughly explain the chemistry aspect of carpet cleaning, I was hoping some of you pro's could fill me in on about how much chemicals a technician would go through in a average 3-4 room job? Or basically about how much money is wrapped up in a average job in chemicals???
