They want Janitorial services. Hourly rates apply here.

Figure out how many hrs it will take to do. Lets say 4hrs per night

How many employees will be on the job. Lets say you and 3 others.

 Their pay and all your expenses. You pay them $8hr and your expense is ?So you have to pay out $8 x 4hrs = $32 x 3 employees = $96 a day x 7 days = $672 a week for your employees..
Add your expenses for the week?
 
Then bid double that amount..Ermm

That is very true, looks like you have alot of years of business experience , I have a question for you nightrider, I did a job last night ( just got home actually ) and they asked me if I did nightly cleaning . They need a maintenance man everyday 7 nights/week to vacuum, clean the bathrooms, offices, take out the garbage, you know what I mean . I said I did and that I would get back to them with a price, trouble is, I don't know what or how to calculate how much to charge. 1. Twelve Areas Your Advertising Won't Ever Fix

  • So when does your next "Blast For Business" start? You know the scenario. Sales are down. Gotta pump them up by throwing out a direct mail blast to the nearby zip code; gotta do an email blast with a discount offer. Gotta check this special deal from the radio or newspaper rep. Gotta spend more money hoping people will love a mediocre product from a cookie-cutter type of carpet cleaner. And, when it's not working, heck, just spend some more money!


Here are twelve elements of your carpet cleaning  that your "Blast For Business" advertising won't ever fix:

  1. Your product / service 
  2. The customers experience of you or employees 
  3. Your presentation ( do you look professional ) 
  4. Your equipment you bring into her home ( is it clean or all dirty from the last job ) Your exterior equipment ( Truckmount ) is it clean, lettered, logo, the exterior has to represent you on the interior. 
  5. You or employee interactions with customers
  6. Your body odor, never enter a home smelling like a sewer, if you sweat alot have a change of clothes, soap and clean up before the next job
  7. Your ability of small talk, speak of the weather or something neutral, don't get into politics, religion, or current events. Never compliment their car or household items ( they'll think you're casing the joint ) 
  8. Your ability to satisfy your customers concerns, don't talk too much, listen more and ask  questions regarding her concerns.
  9. Your Customers perception of value.
  10. Your ability to be the mayor and connect with those whom you are doing business with in a diplomatic manner 
  11. Your ability to create a WOW so your customers have something to tell others about, ( go the extra mile, offer to clean some loose rugs for free, clean her/his car carpet for free, anything just WOW them.) 
  12. Your ability to define and differentiate Carpet Cleaning and be famous for something.
  • What to do? Take those advertising dollars and allocate them into the areas above. You'll get a much higher return on your investment.
