    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.kleenkuip.com/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=2945">Senior craftsman</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 6369<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 07/July/2010 at 7:11pm<br /><br />&nbsp;I worked for just one day for a carpet cleaning company that was&nbsp; using the name of a major store's name, back in 1994, a national store that everyone anywhere in this country has heard of, and we only did 12&nbsp;houses that day, because the other guy was late, I was on time, 2 hour commute, and he stopped for a GF visit on the way to the first job&nbsp;.<DIV></DIV>We "Scotchguarded" every job, and every room got treatment.&nbsp; I posed as a brand new technician, to see how this company could charge so little.<DIV>As a 'new' tech, actually a carpet cleaner for 24 years already, I received no training, and did all the wand stuff.</DIV><DIV>The 'master' tech did the furniture moving and 'treatment'.</DIV><DIV>There was the Majical gallon bottle of "Scotchguard".</DIV><DIV>The tech got a $500 bonus only if he sold&nbsp; $1000 of protection.</DIV><DIV>He told me to get the bottle of "scotchguard".</DIV><DIV>It had less than 8 ounces of something in it.</DIV><DIV>He filled the bottle up with warm water and repeated filling the same wicked old looking bottle every time it went down to 4-8 ounches and repeated this all day long.</DIV><DIV>He got the month's goal done in one day.</DIV><DIV>$500/day was good money in those days.</DIV><DIV>Heck, 26 years later it still is, plus his day's cleaning earnings.</DIV><DIV>Scotchguard is a decent product, and for a $10/warrantee form with a great 7 year&nbsp;warrantee for the cosumer and tech, it was a win, win deal that no other product could match!Never had a stain call back for service.</DIV><DIV>I have used a lot of different products, spent entire days masking off vents and returns in high risers like the Ritz Carlton et al, due to odor migration of solvents.</DIV><DIV>In regards to the MONTREAL ACCORDS, i STOPPED USING 1,1,1 TRI, even though it was not bad, just a cousin of the bad stuff.</DIV><DIV>For carpets, I use water based protector from Vickers Industries in Yphank, Long Island, NY.</DIV><DIV>Manny Vickers is&nbsp; a chemist by trade, also invented one of the best car 'waxes' and sold it. I think it is called Zymol, but my memory is foggy.</DIV><DIV>Great protection, reasonable price.</DIV>]]>
