    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.kleenkuip.com/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=601">duckcountry</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 6692<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 05/September/2010 at 8:58pm<br /><br /><font face="Arial" size="2">IICRC S100 establishes minimum standards for professional on-location cleaning of installed textile floor coverings.&nbsp; If the customer's attorney presents an expert witness who is IICRC certified and can quote the standard you my friend lose in court.&nbsp; It's not what you client knows, it is what case law his own lawyer knows that will hang you.&nbsp; But, if you want to do less than an adequate job, go for it.&nbsp; The lawyer will add on his percentage to any expenses the client&nbsp; is liable for if he loses or you are liable for if you lose.&nbsp; Bottom line, you will be out of a job and if they can find other assets you have, hope to can find another state to move into until the next suit.&nbsp; <br><br>Unless of course you have an industry accepted manual that says spray, extract, collect.&nbsp; Or maybe extract then collect proving you went out of your way to spray which is an option only.&nbsp; Would you like to live in a home where the contractor made up his own codes as he went along and nothing was inspected?&nbsp; The exact same principle applies here.&nbsp; So far, the government accepts self regulating by the industry but if that doesn't work, you can see where it leads to out of the necessity of protecting the consumer.<br></font>]]>

I think not--lets face it we all do things a little different, nobody does everything exactly like you do or i do- and don't take this the wrong way, i'm sure your a very good cleaner with many happy customers-it's not my intention to knock anybody here, so i am sorry if i offended you or anybody else here]]>

    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.kleenkuip.com/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=1513">Soil Lint Green</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 6692<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 12/August/2010 at 12:05am<br /><br />Water alone does not restore the pH.&nbsp; That is the job of a chemical rinse.&nbsp; If you want a green solution try the Axiom line of products in the states.<br><br>In regards to why you take the steps, the IICRC provides an industry accepted guideline:<br><br>1.&nbsp; Dry Soil Removal (vacuum)<br>2.&nbsp; Soil Suspension aka CHAT (chemical, heat, agitation, dwell time)<br>3.&nbsp; Soil Extraction (this is were the pH is returned to 7.0 in the fibers)<br>4.&nbsp; Grooming (restoring pile)<br>5.&nbsp; Drying (maximum time is 24 hours)<br><br>Brake any of those rules and God help you in a lawsuit should the customer wish to take you to court over whatever he wants to blame you for regarding you and his carpet.&nbsp; Any IICRC instructor worth his or her weight in gold will tell you that.<br><br>Cardinal rule - don't bend or brake the rules.<br><br>Rotovac are mechanical engineers, not chemists.&nbsp; Don't ask them how to properly clean carpet.&nbsp; The power wands they make are great in my opinion, but they are part of what makes up your cleaning arsenal and not the be all to end all.<br>]]>
