Author: 4running
Subject: 7496
Posted: 02/October/2013 at 11:18pm

UPDATE!-

I purchased a pump rebuild kit A&B which included seals, valves, packings, and a piston this was about $110 total.

I found a valve that had some scale and may not have been closing all the way, the rest of the pump and seals were in near perfect shape. I likely could have cleaned the valve up and reinstalled,but just went ahead with a full rebuild because it was such a pain in the back to take this thing apart, and I know I'm gonna keep this machine longer so a new pump is fine with me.

After reassembly and a short run in period, the pump runs out well and maintains 400PSI with the valve open at the detail tool.

This machine blows my spyder out of the water. 450PSI is huge compared to 100.

Thanks to all who chimed in to help. I hope in the future someone is able to use this.
I just got back to my machine after a long hiatus. My Mytee Spyder is only 100psi, why does it feel like more pressure than my 450psi Speedster?

Maybe I have too large of an orifice or nozzle on my detail tool?

Can I run the same orifice or nozzle on the Spyder as I run on the Speedster? I got this machine for bigger jobs and just haven't needed it since I got the response. Thanks in advance for all the info, I still learning the ins and outs of my business.
You will naturally have a pressure drop (reading on the gauge) because you have "rerouted" it to your wand jets when valve is opened. That is the nature of a regulator and/or an unloader valve as well.

Hope this helps;

Ed Valentine

cross-american.com

When I open the valve at the wand and begin to spray, the gauge drops to 150 or so.

If the pump builds 450psi unloaded, why when I open the valve does it drop to 150? do I have a volume issue?

My machine was in storage for almost a year. Maybe it needs to be descaled?
