I would do some more research on various models of HWE equipment so that you become more educated. If you become more educated you are less likely to make a mistake and will feel much better about your purchase.

They are NOT what you should be using as a pre vacuum for your clients. Buy a Dyson.

HWE = Hot Water Extraction
A rainbow is a pain in the ass and the water filtration is not what it is cracked up to be. When entering a customers house you want to be as efficient as possible with your time. What you don't want to do is spend time "setting up" your vacuum. Pouring water in , screwing the lid on choosing the right cleaning head. If you are going to be doing residential cleaning thats one thing but if you are a carpet cleaner then you want a quick, powerful easy to use vacuum that does a great job at sucking up dirt and lifting the pile of the carpet. I would like to have a dyson only to be able to show the customer what I am pulling out of their carpets but I don't want to push around an 18 pound vacuum several times a day. I use an Oreck which weighs less and does a great job at cleaning and lifting pile. End of the day its your call as to how you want to run your business.

What I would do is contact your local janitorial supply company and see what they carry so that you could either purchase or lease your first machine (professional machine). I had no idea they still make Rainbows. Ed Valentine produces a great machine you can see them over at crossamerican dot com. or you could check out steambrite dot com. You will need at least a 100psi pump and 2-2stage vacs and a heater IMO. My first machine has 500 psi 2-2 stages and a heater. I got it from the local janitorial supply company. I paid about $600-$800USD more than if I would have bought it online but with being new and not knowing what to expect i felt that paying the extra now was ok due to if anything failed i could just drive 20 minutes to get it looked at as opposed to shipping it back to texas or michigan (although the michigan place would send you parts overnight and walk you through working on it with awesome customer service). |

The Rainbow is just a high-end vacuum cleaner, right? It's not really a carpet cleaning system. Shawn Ray offered good suggestions--get commercial equipment. The type of system you should use will also depend on the types of properties you service. HWE may not be the right choice in any case, considering the humidity of the Philippines.
