Hi all, I'm the new kid here so here goes, I was just wondering what your guys opinion was on steam way preferably the legacy model. Since I'm going to be buying a truck mount pretty soon I would like your guys opinion on this machine. I do mostly residential work and mostly do single wanding if this fact helps, Thanks to all who help!!!!

I just sold a Powermatic Legacy 2100 that I bought new less than a year ago had it 6 or 7 months and after about 600 hours it was one problem after the other when running properly it cleans VERY well but it became a very rare occassion that it worked properly the longer I owned it the more I realized what a stupid design it was I will never own another one
happiest days with the Problematic was the day it was installed and the day it was sold |

A few years ago there was a "Steam Way posse" that continually pushed that brand on the boards and belittled detractors in the face of real problems.
It was once a good egg, back in the Ralph Bloss era. Since Daley Chemical bought them things have slipped.
Ask around to see if ANY 9100 lx units are still running after barely four years on the market.

We own two prochem 405's,I know they are old,We have gutted them one at a time and We have rebuilt the chassis out of 316 stainless steel, Rusting out is a big problem with the chassis. We made them a little larger and made some changes so they are more user friendly.I would reccomend something easy to work on because you will be working on it .Also If you Have any mechanic background,I would get as much Information on what you are about to buy as you can.You can get alot of information on the Internet. Our unit's are reliable because we understand them .We rebuilt them from the ground up Edited by prochemmech |

i worked with a co. that ran a ProChem 405..They had a 15 TM operation out of Milwaukee...That was many moon's ago and i was payed $5.50hr... The truck was bringing in around 500+ daily ...I saved and saved and saved and learned and learned and learned the tricks of the trade... Now you know the rest of the story... 405 is a very powerful TM...but i started with a porty....The 6 months i was there it never broke down....
