Ok! So every sevral days you can go through a one gallon chemspec liquid 90. When re filling solution in the 5 gallon tank you expect the worst 32 oz per tank. How much a gallon for liquid 90 Carpetologist. Lets do some math. Box of tide will last you at least a month for 20 dollars. As far as I have seeen at least where I am 16 chemspec scoops of powder 90 and 2 energizers theat the heavily soiled rating right? Edited by 77748 |

77748 If you are running Powdered Formula 90 through a metering system i recommend no more than 2 scoops / 5 gallon concentrate. if you want to add Energizer, then add only what you feel is necessary for the day. Energizer is an oxidizer and rrmains effective for only 12 hours. My guess is that 1 scoop / 5 gallons would be more than sufficient 16 scoops will not diliute properly and will cause nothing but problems |

That's not what the manufacture says! You are saying two scoops the plastic scoops that come with all the one gallon powders. Carpetologist where are you and you input is needed here. Please !!! little scoop or big scoop Are we going by what the manufacture says 32 oz per 5 gallon solution tank heavily soiled . I have since heard 10 oz , another person 2 scoops, someone else said come on man don't go by what the the manufacture says if you want to really do something you know you gotto add more. |

I was explaining the fun we have had bouncing this Tide thing around with one of my chemical formulators. He claimed that Tide has fiberglass in it and that's their secret to agitation. So if the next time you have sex on a carpet and start scratching don't blame your partner. Blame thrifty carpet cleaner. I have no proof of this but their is nothing stopping you from going home and experimenting. |

TED THAT IS ONE GREAT POST! I was howling I will alsol tell you that you were not far off. I can't say for sure about Tide but most laundry detergents contain something called ZEOLITES. This is a mined mineral and is considered a builder. It does offer microscopic abrasion. It is less abrasive than fiberglass but does offer the same characterisitics. Go get 'em tiger |

Pity those people that pulled the carpets out of their homes, will never be able to join in on this abrasive addition to sex.

Sex on hard surface flooring can be pretty abrasive if you don't sweep first

Mr. Steamer Lets assume for the moment that have no knowledge about plumbing. You have been to Home Depot / or equivalent and seen a product called Instant Plumber Be that as it may, lets say you have a plugged sink problem. Because you have no experience you call a plumber. In he comes and proudly shows you his bottle of Instant Plumber. Goes to the sink, fixes the problem. Now you know that you can do this. he then hands you a bill for $149.00 I am not sure this would make you feel pretty good. Now i would be the first to admit that the millions of dollars P&G spends to advertise Tide leaves a very positive impression on all consumers and I'm sure that Tide obviously works to your satisfaction but I'm not sure it leaves your customers with a good feeling. Just my opinion - Happy Cleaning |

Jim, Specialty chems have a high mark up, just because it's labeled carpet cleaning soap, doesn't mean it's better than laundry detergent, in some cases it just might be laundry detergent. People are willing to pay more of specialty products, like we all do when we buy chem spec or prochem or what ever else. It's up to the consumer to open their own eyes. Tide is not the only thing that does the cleaning, it's also my many years of experience, and my $50,000 dollar truck on the drive way. it's hard to run out to home depot and buy a $50,000. dollar truck...lol Yes you have the do it yourself'er out there but alot of people just rather pay someone else to do it. thats the bottom line.
Here's one for you Jim, I have a problem ... my grass keeps growing. I own a lawn mower... I know how to cut it... why do I call someone else to do it??? I know how... I own a lawn mower hmmmmmm
