All for a bit of Nylon........I would hate to see what he would go through with a ruined Berber.  I believe there's a story behind this that he is not telling.   Maybe his mother in law is coming home soon.....and he doesn't want to face the music......of ruining her carpet.

Only kidding with you Regent

It's working without it, so I don't think I'll bother with the salt. Borax would work to soften the water up a bit, though.

Better check with Lee Senter to get the scoop regarding the health issues of salt?

Well if you do at least the carpet won't freeze?  Cleaning with salt water?? That should really do the trick?

Well, it's almost clean!  I'm still banging away with the Rug Doc and Oxy clean, and the wicking areas are pretty small now. The end is in sight!

There's no water softener here. Somebody suggested putting some water softener salt in the water. Will that help?

John for christ's sake how long have you been cleaning carpets?  I don't care if your unit has a lear jet for a blower it will not clean the underpad threw the carpet. I guess you must be IICRC certified along with Michael to think that can happen. Get a bigger machine? Give your head a shake.

Having a IICRC certified cleaner doesn't mean jack $hit when it comes to getting a good job.

Didn't make me a better cleaner. It just gave me an expensive patch, and I don't even get the good patch unless I certify my firm. I can think of better uses for $125.00.
