WRONG AGAIN KENNY...............CAN'T BE HOT WATER.......BUT RATHER WARM WATER..............THAT WAS A SUMMER JOB OF MINE WHEN I WAS 16 LOL........IF THE TEMPERATURE OF THE ARENA WAS TOO HIGH WE USED COLD WATER AND ROSE  THE SHAVER BLADES TO REMOVE LESS ICE AND LET THE CARPET SMOOTH WITH COLD WATER

IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH HOT WATER MELTING THE ICE , WITH LESS AIR BUBBLESLOL  KENNY, I THINK YOU WERE THINKING OF AN AERO CHOCOLATE BAR WITH THE BUBBLES

I'm not Jack, but I can tell you why, Splash. Warm water is needed to melt the ice surface to fill in all the ruts created by the skates. Warm water just plains melts the surface faster than cold water could thanks to it's higher BTU content. Another reason that most people do not know about, is that warm water holds less air bubbles in it either, leading to a smoother ice surface than cold water could deliver. If I have forgot anything here, I am sure that Jack will fill you in.
