If you think you can clean like a TM with just only OP machine on a nasty carpet...Think again. (unless you wanna spend countless hours on the job). A friend sent these posts to me from paddyland (from veteran Op'ers) to have it posted on here (since John banned my azz from his board, For speakin my opinions about Op'in).
Ps- I guess I'm not the only one having these experiences...Maybe, I dont suck at Op'in after all. Posted by Fred Carter on March 15, 2007 - 11:40 PM Today was the marvelous day! The olifin berber from monkeyland. I wasted 2 hours trying to pad it and just couldnt reach an exceptable level so I gave up and hooked up the TM. It was the right choice. I pre-sprayed a strong mix of d-limonine and traffic lanes cleaner and it desolved MOSt of the horrible black soils. I couldnt get the pads to pull the horrible black pigmented particles from within that matted crap!(Excuse my language) When I talk with the owner Im going to ask him who or wHaT* lived there and why! Then Im going to charge him accordingly. Do cavemen have carpet? Most pets are better. Padlad Oh yeah and order an extra everything so youll be safe out there.lol -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- RE: I met the carpet from hell. Posted by Con Schultz on March 15, 2007 - 11:44 PM Another example of why every cleaner needs to have ALL the tools in his toolbox. IMO Con yes it is good to hear even about the failures of OP... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- RE: I met the carpet from hell. Posted by Joe Gilstrap on March 15, 2007 - 11:50 PM Know what your talking about Fred. We see lots of berber that we HWE first before we pad, otherwise we would be there all day. Don't see how John makes it without a truckmount. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- RE: I met the carpet from hell. Posted by Fred Carter on March 15, 2007 - 11:59 PM Because all of the cavemen are down in the 360 mile long Mammoth cave in Kentucky! Padlad Oh yeah and order an extra everything so youll be safe out there.lol -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- RE: I met the carpet from hell. Posted by Administrator on March 16, 2007 - 08:31 AM When I am on a berber that is really nasty I move the machine very slowly, plus it is olefin, I use quite dry pads. Too many guys try to move the machine quickly on those types of carpets, let the machine do the work. It is much faster when you move slower. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- RE: I met the carpet from hell. Posted by douglas keil on March 16, 2007 - 10:24 AM Some times a green strip pad work great. It will dig the dirt out then use a cotten pad to remove the dirt. IMO Have a great OPee day.... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- RE: I met the carpet from hell. Posted by Grant on March 16, 2007 - 11:31 AM Just curious, how many pads into the first room did you get before you decided to fire up the tm? If you were to have just proceeded with pads, how many do you think it would have taken? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- RE: I met the carpet from hell. Posted by Waldo on March 16, 2007 - 08:26 PM Fred isn't going to be banned now is he? wALDO Edited by Ninja-wand - 16/March/2007 at 10:00pm |

I didnt post this for you STeemer. This post is for all the people who is thinking about gettin a Op set-up because they were told that it would be all that they need to tackle all carpets.
Again, I have nothin against OP (I do it myself). But, Lets get all the facts (good and bad) out there for the people to know...Before, they put out all that cash for a set-up. Edited by Ninja-wand - 16/March/2007 at 10:52pm |

All I have to say is that there are..........Hand saws,..... Reciprocating Saws, .....Cement Saws,..... Keyhole Saws, .....Mitre Saws, .....Pole Saws,..... Dovetail Saws,..... Jig Saws, .....Ice saws, .....Drywall Saws, .....Band saws, Cross Cut Saws, .....Rip Saws,..... Compass Saws, .....Table saws,..... Pad saws,..... Circular saws,..... Radial Arm saws, .....Scroll Saws, .....Chain Saws , .....Copping saws,..... Back saws, .....Metal saws........................THERE'S EVEN A MUSICAL SAW.
WHY WOULD ANY PROFESSIONAL CARPET CLEANER THINK THERE IS ONLY ONE WAY TO CLEAN A CARPET.

At MikeFest we tried out a Cimex and a Brute. The Brute did a nice job. The result spoke for itself.
