Illegal Dumping of Truck Mount Dirty Water

In 1993 Milwaukee WI had a severe case of parasitic water.. 400,000 ill.. 4000 died..  Human sewage was discharged from the sewage plant into Lake Michigan  (What kind of crap is that?) ..  then it floated South and into the Wastewater drinking plant.. Then drank on Milwaukees South side..

Over here in Perth, Western Australia (as with the rest of Aus I'm pretty sure!) all houses/buildings have a sewer inspection point that plumbers can access in the case of a blockage. They're simply a tube set in the ground, normally right next to the building and covered with a plastic grate or lid that is easily removed and you shove your waste water hose into... end of problem and easy as!

If that can't happen for any reason then there's all manner of sinks, toilets, waste pipes with threaded lids on their elbows etc, etc where you can place your waste hose into... do you guys not have that over there?

Portables are easy to deal with; fill bucket, walk to toilet, pour it down! Or are your customers so anally fussy that they kick up a stink over there if you "dirty" a toilet with your foul, horrible, tainted and smelly water where they dump their daily load of s h i t? During my 1st 2 years of the now 20years I've been carpet cleaning a portable is exactly what I used and as long as I flushed when finished, never was there a complaint and why should there be? After all, my waste was less offensive than their "waste"!!

For truck mount operators, is it really that hard to direct your waste water to sewer and if you absolutely can't, then why would you risk it getting into the waterways by dumping it on the street? And to those that say "but I'm nothing in the general scheme of things"... that may well be true but if everyone pulls their weight we can make a difference!

Look at this scenario, I own a truckmount, average 3 jobs, using 300litres (80USGallons) per job, 900litres (240 USGallons) per day. Quite a bit really, but compared to everyone else, barely a ripple in the bucket.

But across the city, with another 350-odd guys working, even if their machines use 50% of what I do, that's 157,500litres (41,600 USGallons) or roughly 170 tons of waste water!! And that's just in one day...

Get my drift? All added up it makes a whole lotta difference so if everyone says "I'm too insignificant", well you ain't! We all need to be aware environmentally and all have the responsibility of doing the best we can to preserve our world. Why ruin it for the sake of ignorance and apathy or sheer bloody laziness (i.e. selfishness?) only to complain and whine when

Other people polluting does not justify us polluting! knowing right from wrong does not make me a tree hugger. The consumer is becoming better educated all the time, Dump on the street and people notice.....
they may not report you but someday the time will come when they will.... and it will cost , big time .

As for me ..... I try to comply .

Ok think about this.  If its so bad to dump in parking lot drains then why do they let the oils from the pavement be dumped in them.  Havent you ever seen a newly paved parking lot?  It's FULL of tar/oils/chemicals and everytime it rains guess where they go not to mention the oil from the cars that park in them or the bug spray, pool chemicals, etc...  So just stop being a bunch of freakin tree huggers we aren't adding that much to the problem by dumping dirty water into the drains.  Hope no one hates me for this post but it pisses me off.

Check with gas stations and Rv places for the location of the nearest Camper and Rv dump stations, hopefully your community has some. If not it makes it tougher to comply. a Once a year cleaning of a car wash owners house may go along way in securing the spot you need for dumping. and keep your van clean at the same time. Our future clean water supply depends on all of us.... We can each do our part. IMO

Gas & oil are natural products of the earth but we don't dump them willy Nilly down the street .
neither should we be dumping Chemicals that way.

Where do you get your notion that these dangerous chemicals come from the earth? Most are man made concoctions and mixture. very few are in there " natural " state so your thinking is flawed.

Would you knowingly let your daughter or son drink from a glass of your " carpet water" ? I didn't think so
So we shouldn't be so callous about our " Just Dump It " attitude either . IMO
