I just experimented with some laundry detergent in my room at my own place.I use a rotary scruber then extract. That $5.00 stuff did way better than my $28 carpet cleaning shampoo!I don't recommend people for people to use laundry detergent on customers carpets, but damn this stuff worked perfect and smelled perfect.I will continue to use it on my carpet at home. What is your opionin on laundry detergent? will eventually destroy my carpet.

It leaves a sticky residue if not rinsed out VERY WELL. Also very foamy

My main competitor buys Tide by the case. I don't now all the pluses and minuses of using it, but it seems to me if it takes a lot of rinsing then overwetting will be a problem. All I know for sure is I'm picking up a lot of his former long-time customers.

just how poor is the cleaning in some areas. Honestly I have a hard time believing some of this crap about how good everyone is and people are leaving their long time cleaners just to have someone who knows JACK about cleaning to do their work??

I'm picking up his customers because I do a better job, at least that's what the customers are telling me. It's certainly not the price because I charge pretty high.

I'm sure they don't know about the detergent or they would ask questions. As for knowing "JACK", I actually do know what I'm doing and I'm very good at it. Believe it or not, I live in a county (pop. 37,000) with only three carpet cleaners and one is a Service Master that does little carpet unless it's part of an insurance job.
