Do it out of sight and you can get away with charging more.  Let them picture 4 or 5 guys working on their furniture with killer systems.
Are you in a high paying business or are you just a self employed low paid grunt who thinks this business provides dignity?

Honestly i would rather clean furniture than carpet as long as it isn't extremely dirty. Most furniture i mist and vac and only scrub on the spots. Of course it all depends on what type of upholstery you are dealing with. Do you burn test or do color fastness tests? If you are unsure about the piece you are cleaning this will help a lot to determine the proper method of cleaning.

We don't gallop more than 30 from home at anytime. We used to run everywhere but I cut it back. Sure it probably hurt in the short run but you have to do what you have to do. My trucks make money when the wand is going back and forth not when the technician is rideng with A/C and radio on.

I used to hate it, now I just consider it part of the job that leads to or keeps good customers. A good handtool helps and I now use a TM with the heat making greasy cotton suites easier.

I charge good prices and some say no, but that's fine with me. I have a price were I don't begrudge the work.

I'm with you.  I hate cleaning furniture also because it takes so long and it doesn't seem to be worth the money we make.  However, in times like this of economic uncertainty we all need to take the jobs we are given and make money since there are many businesses out there that are really struggling.

Carpets and fabrics that are not properly cleaned and maintained have the potential to cause a variety of health problems. Professional carpet cleaning improves the indoor air quality of your home or work environment and it extends the life of your carpet. So I prefer Professional cleaning.
