If you wanna know what Ed sounds like give him a call,I have and it was a pleasure.It's nice chatting with a guy who REALLY know his stuff when it comes to CC and does not pressure you into buying his product.
besides if you ever want a portable or spot machine he's da man.

$1000 price should do it. 1/2 HP machines are just not worth what the 3/4 to 1 HP machines are worth. They are the new standard in performance.

Moot point since nobody makes them. But a 1 HP machine is capable of doing everything you could want to do. I would say when the commercial machines get to over 17" we will see 1.5 HP machines come out. They will be needed for say a 20" machine. 2 HP machines would just pop breakers all the time.
