Hello,
I have a re-occuring problem with a rear axle seal leaking. The van is a 2000 GMC 3500. I have changed the seal many times and it contiues to leak. New bearings, etc. The seal surface appears to be fine. The vent is clear... I have stumped many local mechanics. I had 1 guy tell me to change the entire rear end because the seal is leaking... hmmmmm anyone have this problem????

Wow, Is it a Butler system? I have around 85,000 miles and 3800 hours on a butler system.. I have not had any major repairs to the butler system. I had an intake manifold gasket leak on the truck and of course the never ending axle seal leak..overall o.k. Any snow left up there??
