Mr. Steamer, why do you feel the need to be so defensive? Trust me, I could care less about how you run your business. You are not the subject of my posts on this topic. Try having a good weekend. |
|
Are you in a high paying business or are you just a self employed low paid grunt who thinks this business provides dignity?

There is nothing wrong with selling a service....IF THEY NEED IT. But selling a service to a customer who doesn't need it is wrong. At that point your doing it to line your pockets and not bcause the customer really needs the service. I'm not picking on you Steamer...I'm just saying in general. Selling a service to someone who you know doesn't need it (just to increase the bottom line) is like selling an engine to an old lady when all she needed a new air filter. You see what I'm saying? |

There are plenty of services people don't need but are pressued or duped by salesmen into buying them anyway. Scotchguard is a perfect example. I've had customers tell me the last carpet cleaner tryed to pressure sell them Scotchguard on a new carpet. Those are the kind of things I'm refering to.

Another great way to get new clients is work with your local business owners in joint ventures. EX. Find a company that may be best represented by your criteria. (i.e. lwan maintenance company or churches) then offer to do a FREE room or house of cleaning for them. This way they can test drive your services before they start promoting your company to their database. Let them know that your will gave a discount to their clients as an exclusive offer being giving by your company just for their clients. This do two things - it makes the joint venture look caring and concerned for their clients and enables you to strengthen both your database and bank account. There is much more detail I could offer on this if needed. feel free to email me direct if you like with any assitance in marketing your company.
