We get booked when the sun is shining. We can't get there when it is snowing. 6 days on the road and I am going to make it out of town tonight.

We had bad snow couple a months ago, well bad for us anyway. Business dropped right down and thought it was the dreaded credit crunch. Didn't really want to risk going out in the van either as it was treacherous.

Anway couple a weeks later things were booming again.

Holiday time bugs me when the kids are off school families don't want to know.

I see things slowing down more and more so I am going back to a low pricing scheme just to build clientele.  Knowing most folks here in the US start off with Thanksgiving as a cleaning time (living and dining areas) and then pushing on toward Xmas and SuperBowl Sunday as the final cleaning days until after April 15 I need to do something to snag the biznes.

Are you in a high paying business or are you just a self employed low paid grunt who thinks this business provides dignity?

We're using AdWords and leaflets to get our main business from now - Christmas.
Then in Jan when it gets quieter we are going to run a 3 for 2 offer on carpet and upholstery cleaning. What are you guys doing to keep the diary full throughout Jan?

Promoting a carpet cleaning business during the winter months requires strategic planning to overcome the unique challenges of the season. Here are some tips to help you boost your business.

Winter-Specific Promotions
  • Offer winter-themed promotions or discounts to incentivize customers to schedule carpet cleaning during the colder months. For example, consider a "Winter Fresh" discount or a package deal.
Highlight Quick Drying Times
  • Emphasize your carpet cleaning process's quick drying times, addressing concerns customers may have about damp carpets in winter. Use this as a selling point in your marketing materials.
Target Holiday Cleanups
  • Capitalize on the holiday season by promoting post-party cleanup services. Many customers may be interested in refreshing their carpets after hosting events.
Social Media Engagement
  • Leverage social media to engage with your audience. Share before-and-after photos, cleaning tips for winter stains, and customer testimonials. Consider running social media ads to reach a broader audience.
Local SEO Optimization
  • Optimize your website and online profiles for local search terms. Many customers search for services in their area, so ensure your business appears in local search results.
Weather-Resistant Marketing Materials
  • Create weather-resistant marketing materials, such as door hangers or flyers, that can withstand winter conditions. Distribute these in targeted neighborhoods.
Winter-Related Blog Content
  • Create blog content focused on winter carpet care tips, the importance of winter cleaning, or how your services can help combat the effects of winter on carpets.
Email Marketing Campaigns
  • Run targeted email campaigns highlighting your winter promotions, offering tips for winter carpet care, and reminding customers of the benefits of winter cleaning.
Customer Referral Program
  • Implement a customer referral program specific to the winter season. Encourage satisfied customers to refer friends and family, and offer discounts or rewards for successful referrals.
Collaborate with Local Businesses
  • Partner with local businesses for cross-promotions. For example, collaborate with a winter equipment rental service and offer joint promotions to each other's customers.
Offer Emergency Spot Cleaning
  • Promote emergency spot cleaning services for winter-related stains like salt or mud. Position your business as the go-to solution for immediate carpet cleaning needs.
Attend Winter Events
  • Participate in local winter events or sponsor winter-related activities. This can increase your brand visibility and attract potential customers.
Winter Equipment Showcase
  • Showcase your winter-ready cleaning equipment on your website and in marketing materials. Highlight features that make your equipment suitable for winter conditions.
Customer Education
  • Educate customers about the benefits of winter carpet cleaning, including improved indoor air quality and the removal of allergens that can accumulate during winter.
By tailoring your marketing strategies to address the specific needs and concerns of customers during the winter months, you can effectively promote your carpet cleaning business and attract new clients.

Marketing carpet cleaning services in the winter can be a bit tricky, but it's definitely doable. One thing you can play up is the whole "fresh start for the new year" angle. Maybe offer special packages for post-holiday cleanups or promote the idea of starting the year with a clean and cozy home. Emphasize the benefits of getting rid of winter grime and allergens.

Also, don't forget to tap into the holiday spirit – offer some winter discounts or bundled services. Another idea is to highlight the quicker drying times in the colder months. People might be hesitant about cleaning in winter, thinking it'll take forever for carpets to dry, so use that as a selling point. And of course, hit up your social media game. Share some satisfying before-and-after pics and maybe throw in some winter-themed promotions.

Best Regards,
