What would you suggest as a start up machine , that I won't out grow?
I want good cleaning, but I don't want to blow breakers all day either. Been looking at the Ninjas and the Rotovac start up kits. But I know little about them. Also what are the biggest probelms with portables? And will certain types of portables minimize the troubles?
   By the way,I'm located in upstate NY, not the UK?????

Mytee makes a product called the electrical converter kit which used the electric dryer hookup and should stop circuit tripping.  Cost about $160 US.

As for a portable you won't outgrow, it will need a 350 PSI or better.  The salesperson at Rotovac will try his best to tell you it will blow fuses.  They all will if they have a heater it seems.  But not with that adapter I would bet.

Excuse me ma'am, I'm gonna plug into your dryer outlet and run your hydro bill up for you. You don't mind, right

King Cobra 500 with a greenglide will be the closest to an entry level TM. And then you dont have to carry wand and hoses, everything you need loads up.

IMHO, a Great well-thought out "portable" will not offer you many, if any, problems, period.

And, don't stop at just a generic one either. Instead, chose a long time proven "High-Performance" one at that, and be light years ahead of most!

The very best;
