I'm looking for a new insurance compnay for our business. We had State Farm but yesterday they told me my policy was going to $2700 a year, it was only $400 a year. No claims! They just said they will be changing the policy from misalanious to contactor policy? I few other small business I know such as land clearing said that was crazy. What do you all think?

Safeco has a similar policy (couldn't be the same 'cause then it would be from Allied) for the same price. I have seen a policy online that is more like a $50k policy which is more in line with what residential cleaners would need, from some organization of businesses that apply chemicals (including landscapers and carpet cleaners). Anybody know about this group? http://www.insurechem.com |

Forgot to say I use safeco which is why I know about the policy. I was looking to change myself which is how I found the insurechem site.

I called around looking for cheaper. Never found any, and everyone told me you cant buy a poilicy at under 1 mil and the 2 mil was $5 more a year. Might as well. Then you can tell your custys that when you burn thier house down, by accident, they get 2mil instead of 50k.

Just got a quote from them...to high. A $25/50000 policy is almost $800. And their financing options are more than 1/2 upfront with 3 or 5 month payments. Better off with a real insurance company like Allied and Safeco among others. They even including a 2% sales tax when we have none. |

I'm using State Farm and they only charge me $61 a month for $100,000 coverage. Hmmm. This includes liability and any damage to my equipment. There is a $1000 deductable though.
That's odd that they would charge you $2700 a year. |

Atlantis, this is business liability insurance, not vehicle insurance. Are you sure you are referrencing a business liability plan that protects the customer from mistakes made or do you mean if you hit someone with the van?

Are you in a high paying business or are you just a self employed low paid grunt who thinks this business provides dignity?
