Hey guys,

I was reading a old post that was wrote about the recoil-2. I just recently purchased a used one and wanted some ideas on beefing it up. I heard  that you can go up to a three vac system? How do you do that? Aso, I was working on the pump because it had a leak and i noticed that it could go up to 250 psi, but from what i'm feeling out of the wand it seems like 100. Could it just be the wand? I'm hoping down the line I can purchase additional tanks and set it up on a trailer or something. Overall I just want to be able to utilize this machine for all its worth. My money is funny but I still want to be able to offer a good job and put on a great show. I'M also going to be bonnett cleaning to break down the heavy traffic spots prior to extraction. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

If you want info regarding portables you should post on the portable section.  You should go to Cross America's web site. Mr. Ed Valentine will be able to tell you everything you need to know about that baby.

Buy the Ametec lamb 3 stage 116567-13, Not the 116565-13. Cost a little more but is also more powerful..

Eaglemania;

In our near 30 years of manufacturing equipment, we have had many different models. Example: "RECOIL" machines. We have had models such as;      RECOIL-2       RECOIL-2HP      RECOIL-3HP

One point of caution here to everyone who may be interested in used, used up, or new Cross-American models is the correct description. Because only with the correct description could anyone truly help with the proper information.

I would "guess" that you may be referring to a:  RECOIL-2HP (earlier model that featured a 250 psi pump design; unlike the later models)

You are correct Ed. It is the Recoil 2hp with a 250 psi pump by Pump-Tec. I'm actually trying to find a replacement pump for it because this one is leaking something bad! If you have any in stock let me know. Overall, I'm impressed by it, considering the age and the fact that it's the first porty i've ever owned. Any advise on "beefing" it up would be appreciated. Hopefully we'll be wrapping up a sell on the r3. next month.

Eaglemania;

You are very welcomed, sir.

Before you try to "beef it up" and go as far as "muddling it up (perhaps)--because of amp restrictions, etc...----I would highly recommend that you replace the Piston and the valves by purchasing new replacement kits. This would be less expensive.

The later model RECOIL-2HP systems had 350 psi pumps. Your particular system will not accept this particular set-up.

Stick with the 250 psi and run the living heck out of it!!!!

Thanks Mr.  V.

I'm sure you sell the replacement kits. If you could, email me prices at  mailto:djterry11@msn.com - djterry11@msn.com . If you have the pump, send me some pricing on that as well.
