When I first started I had longer hair than now and drove a canary yellow International Panel truck. I was awful., But I thought I was cool. I'm glad I didn't give up because some one else thought I was a shaky looking character.
We can't change our race. All any of us can do is try to look clean and professional and try to do the best job with what we have ( and be open to learning, always, learning ) 25 years next month and still learning....... |

The shirts look good, but I agree that the jeans have got to go. A pair of khaki pants just look more professional. I wonder what type of shoes they are wearing? ------------- It could always be worse. I mean you could be some carpet stain being emulsified by pre-spray all the while watching a wand spraying really hot solution aiming stright for you. |

I think it is because what used to be the minorities, are now the majorities in the GTA now Ted. And they are taking over the carpet cleaning scene there. The GTA is increasingly becoming a high rise marketplace, where a Ninja makes more sense to operate than a TM, every day that goes by.Throw in the fact that gas prices are headed nowhere but up by next spring, and that guys like this will soon be able to double their vacuum power on all those Ninjas with the addition of a $599 HYPERBOX by next spring as well, and the stage is set for a squeeze on both carpet cleaning rates and TM operators next year. Most do not see this coming, there , but I do. The time is coming where your favorite saying of " Work Smarter, Not harder" is going to be a necessity for those markets like the GTA where a large number of high rises exist, and demand that the right, most efficient tools be used for the job. ------------- Inventor of the Teflon Wand Glide and the Turboteck Rotary Air Duct Cleaners for TMs. |

Well it's a fact of life that the most recent arrivals to the GTA are mostly non-whites. So when they start off in the business, they are going to be starting in the sector of the market that the established cleaners don't want. That happens to be apartments. I did these too when I was getting started in thec GTA in 1978. Only really pay if you can get a bunch in the same building.

It it sad....but no matter what race you are it's reality....I'm dealing with an advertiser thats based in Georgetown...this guy is a racist but I don't think he realizes it...He's made a few comments that have made me feel a little uncomfortable...but you just let them fall on deaf ears...

Ninja-Wand..............with all due respect, a great number of the Chinese population in China eat " CAT " " Dog " " RAT " and other such foods, so why would they change just because they come to The United States or Canada. If it's not so, why would my partners have pics of them cooking these things and have them hanging by rope over tree branches back in the old country, plus the many stories that come along with the pics.
I have 4 Chinese partners in my restaurant and employ 22 ( Chinese Speaking Only ) employees that came with the purchase, and the jokes & insults are all part of a learning proccess between our cultures.
Don't tell me when you're among your family or group of friends that racial jokes never touch the tip of your tongue.

First off NR, There is NOT a great number of chinese that eats dog, cats, butterfly,racoons ect. in China. The people that do eat these kinds of animals are majorily poor that lives in the countryside and cant afford meat. I know...I lived in Hong kong for 2 years and have been to many places in China.

The eating of dog is more a Vietnamese custom than a Chinese one. Many of my friends are of that nationalty(Vietnamese, as well as Chinese). Even though some try to hang the title of racist on me, it doesn't fit.My friends come from dozens of different racial backgrounds. I judge people by what they have done, not where they come from.
Many of my Vietnamese friends I have today escaped Northern Vietnam in boats and ended up in camps in Hong Kong for up to 2 years before getting out of there. I am Vietnamese and it is not a custom to eat dogs. Im not sayin that they dont...because my parents have told me that Back in the days poor people would snatch up whatever pet they seein roamin in the streets and cook'em.
I lived in Hong Kong because my dad was a VP of a sugar exporting company and they sent him there...So, I wasnt in a camp. I was actually living in kowloon. SO dont assume anythin.
